A great song selection

As a big Elton fan I think this concert is great. Unlike other tours, in this one the song selection is really nice and Elton is doing some of the songs I never heard him doing on stage. I wish I could see Elton and Ray live on stage !! And I wish Elton would perform in Israel as well !!! It has been a very long time since he was there (1993) !!!!

Thank you,Concert Live, for doing this.I love to hear Elton when he is solo (nothing against his band), but you can really hear his wonderful voice and his unique piano playing. I have been a fan of his since 1973 and I have about 70 of his CDs and 10 DVDs and tape of concerts he had done. This CD is so good that I believe it is my favorite. This is a must have for any Elton John fan. Thank you, again for this wonderful and amazing CD. Elton is just the very best and he always will be. Dianne

Musical and Technical virtuosity

Superbly fantastic performance from Elton and Ray here. An equally amazing recording/mixing job done to make this masterpiece shine. Having such beautiful and unique combinations as Funeral For a Friend paired with Tonight, and the Carla Etude songs, make this set a favorite on my list. I personally preference no audible audience in the mix, but this set has just a suitable amount to please those who do appreciate it, while not distracting those who don't. Quality is through the roof as usual. This set is remarkable evidence of musical and technical virtuosity and is my absolute favorite collection of Elton songs to date.

Outstanding performance

This is arguably the best performance by Elton and Ray on this tour. The piano impros are just spectacular, especially on Take Me To The Pilot, Honky Cat and Saturday Night. How can someone possibly play with so much energy and virtuosity on the latter track, after 3 hours of non-stop playing. Simply amazing.

My 21st Elton Show was the best

With 2 other friends I took the way from Switzerland to Paris to see Elton & Ray. It was just outstanding! The Palais des Congres is built as a big cinema theatre for about 4,000 people, they were in great mood. After Funeral For A Friend/Tonight people didn't stop clapping. Before Saturday Night's Elton gave hundreds of autographs during 5-6 minutes and - for the first time - he gave his sunglasses to a young boy in the first row. That was truly a concert masterpiece - and thanks god it's available on CD ... ;-)

I also would like to mention the fantastic sound quality on this one! This is a wonderful concert. When listening to it, I wish I could have been there. Unfortunately, Elton and Ray didn't make the way to Switzerland until now. Maybe next autumn?
